What is more universal than music. This area of Philadelphia is known for its array of music genres and no matter where you go, you’ll be able to find live music at any time. Whether its in a bar or at the Fillmore, the music in Philly is a must if you’re planning on spending the night out. Check out El bar or The Foundry for some shows that will surely bring you back.
This one is a no brainer for anyone living in Philadelphia. Fishtown and northern Liberties is known for its diverse bar collection, ranging from top-notch bars to dives. Whatever you’re looking for in these areas, they’ll have it. On top of the quality of these bars, they also mostly have live music so it fits perfectly with the point I made above. El Bar again is a great place to get a drink and watch a show.
Once again, a no brainer for anyone in the city. The food in this area is some of the best in the city with all types of foods being offered. Mexican, American, Greek are all some of the cultures of food Fishtown and Northern Liberties has to offer. Happy Hours and specials are plenty and there seem to be always one being offered at any time of the day. Grab some BBQ food at Fette Sau, or some delicious Asian food at Cheu Fishtown. Fishtown and Northern Liberties are considered the Brooklyn of Philadelphia, with hip bars and restaurants everywhere, this location is perfect mostly for younger people looking to meet others their age or just experience the most of what Philadelphia has to offer. With arcades, bars, music, arcade bars; Fishtown and Northern Liberties will allow anyone to go out of their comfort zone. Not to mention it’s endless opportunities if you’re looking to bring a date or have a romantic night with your significant other. Fishtown is also home to Penn Treaty park which offers a beautiful view of New Jersey on the Delaware River. Penn Treaty is perfect for anyone looking for a breath of fresh air or a park to hang out at with others on a nice summer day. Fishtown and Northern Liberties also is home to a few dog parks so your furry companions can be included as well.
Not so much in Northern Liberties given the popularity of the area, but Fishtown, an area still on the rise, has plenty of units available for affordable prices. With ranges between 1.3k-1.5k for a one-bedroom, it’s considered very affordable in regard to other parts of Philadelphia. Not to mention that the room sizes are generally bigger and are more modernized with meaningless interior issues.
This is a big feature for anyone looking to commute into Center City. located in Fishtown is station connected to the Market-Frankford line so commutability is relatively easy. Fishtown also has a trolley line running down Girard which makes it easier to get around if you don’t have a car. Not to mention the bus routes that run through Fishtown and Northern Liberties.
