Morgan’s Pier is holding its sixth annual Fall Fest by transforming its waterfront beer garden into a picturesque fall festival all October. Fall Fest will offer seasonally inspired food and drink, including a hot, spiked, pumpkin latte, and chocolatey s’mores cocktail. Oktoberfest beers and ciders will also be available, including the locally brewed Victory Festbier.
Make sure to make a reservation and swing by early (11 a.m. to 5 p.m) on Saturdays and Sundays for a chance to carve pumpkins and see live music from local entertainers.
Fall Fest will be open seven days a week from noon until 9:30p.m. To keep social distancing measures in place, masks must be worn while not seated and reservations are required and can be made through

Fairmount Park is the perfect place to see beautiful fall foliage. Take a stroll past the Philadelphia Museum of Art to see the natural landscape of Philadelphia. This 2,000-acre park is full of, walking/biking trails through woodlands and along the Schuylkill River. Fairmount Park is an escape from the hustle and bustle of the city allowing visitors to unwind and take in the beautiful scenery.
Fairmount Park is also home to historical colonial era mansions like the Strawberry Mansion and the must see Shofuso Japanese House and Garden. The best part? The park is free to enter and is open from sunrise to sunset. There are also picnic facilities that are available on a first come first serve basis.
Eastern State Penitentiary is a must see for those that love spooky season. Its gothic architecture and extreme prison reform philosophy makes it one of the most famous and haunted prisons to visit in the world. Walk the same halls that infamous bank robber “Slick Willie” Sutton and see gangster Al Capone’s cell.
You can take a tour of the prison during the day from Friday to Sunday or take a night tour on select days for an even creepier experience. Make sure to get your tickets early because this popular fall tour sells out quickly and there will be limited space due to COVID capacity limits.
Unfortunately, Eastern State Penitentiary had to cancel its annual Terror Behind the Walls haunted attraction due to COVID, but the prison tours will leave you with chills this spooky season.
If you are feeling a trip out of the city for the day, then Linvilla Orchards in Media, Delaware County is the place to go. Linvilla Orchards is a 300-acre family farm with a farmers market and garden center to get all of your fall produce and decorations.
By just driving 30 minutes south of Philadelphia, you’ll get to spend a day picking your own pumpkins and apples and top it all off at Linvillas own Ship Bottom Brewery Beer Garden. The beer garden hours are Fridays from 3 to 9pm, Saturdays from noon to 9pm, and Sundays from noon to 8pm.
Philly based art collective Group X is behind the new art installation at the Philadelphia Navy Yard. Six art installations scattered around different parts of the Navy Yard encourages visitors to take a walk around and experience this truly unique art.
This art installation, code named M.I.M.O.S.A. (short for Mystery Island and the Marvelous Occurrence of Spontaneous Art), shows off some intriguing art. To get an idea of what to expect from Group X, one of the pieces is a Thunderbird lowrider, but it looks like a piñata. Sounds funky right? Yes it is, and you should go see it before it's gone November 2nd.
Guidelines all visitors have to follow while visiting the installation is to keep a mask on at all time and keep six feet of distance, and do not touch any of the art.
